RESOLUTION NO. 87R - 512
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 86R-007 WHICH
ESTABLISHED RATES OF COMPENSATION FOR CONFIDENTIAL
JOB CLASSES.
WHEREAS. the Human Resources Director has recommended in a staff
report dated December 8, 1987 that the rates of compensation for Confidential
job classes shall be adjusted and bilingual compensation be adjusted effective
October 16.1987; and
UHEREAS, as a result thereof. the need exists to amend Resolution No.
86R-O07; and
WHEREAS. the City Council of the Ci tv of Anaheim does find that
arl.iu!':ting these rates of compensation and bilingual compensation is in the
best interest of the Citv of Anaheim.
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED bv the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:

Section 1 of Resolution No. 86R-007 is hereby amended to read as
follows:

Section 5A of Resolution No. 86R-007 is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"Employees required to speak. read and/or write in Spanish or other
languages as well as English as part of the regular duties of their position
will be compensated at the rate of forty dollars ($40.00) per pay period in
addition to their regular pay. The appropriate department head shall
designate which positions shall be assigned bilingual duties and which
languages shall be eligible for bilingual pay.
The Human Resources Director shall conduct a test of competency for
employees whose positions have been assigned bilingual duties to certify these
employees eligible for bilingual pav. except that operating departments with
authorized bi1ingual certifiers may conduct their own test of bilingual
competency and notify the Human Resources Director of the outcome of the
test. Bilingual pay eligibility shall continue in accordance with the above
provisions during any period of leave with pay."

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except for the extent amended.
Resolution No. 86R-007 shall remain in full force and effect.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
15th day of December. 1987.
