A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING PERSONNEL RULE 16 PERTAINING TO VACATION WHEREAS, Resolution No. 77R-805 and Resolution No. 78R 52 established vacation provisions for certain employees of the City of Anaheim: and WHEREAS, Resolutions; and Resolutioll No. 81R.-151 amended said WHEREAS. the Human Resources Director has recommended cet"tain amendments to Per'sonnel Rule 16. Vacation for employees in classifications designated as Executive Management, Administrative Management, Middle Management/Supervisory. Professional and Technical Management. City Manager. City Attorney. City Clerk. City Treasurer and the Confidential Group; and find WHEREAS, I.he City Council of the City of Anaheim does that the adoption of the recommended amendments is in the interests of the City of Anaheim. ÎJ (' s t NOW. THEREFORE. loe city of Anaheim tha1 as follows: BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Personnel Rule 16. Vacation be amended 1. Section 16.3 of Personnel Rule 16 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 16.3 Paid vacation shall continue to accrue in accordance with the above provisions during any period of leave with pay. except that Public Safety employees who remain on Industrial Accident Leave in accordance with Personnel Rule 18 INI)USTRJAL ACCIDENT LEAVE after exhausting State mandated 4850 benefits shall accumulate no vacation. All vacations shall be scheduled and taken in accordance with the best interests of the (¡tv of Anaheim and the department or division in which the employee is employed. The maximum amount of vacation that may be taken at any given time shall be that amount that has accrued II) the employee concerned. The minimum amount of vacation that may be taken at any given time shall be one-half (1/2) hour." 2. Section lfì.5 of Personnel Rule 16 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 16.5 Each employee shall have one-half (1/2) hour deducted from his accrued vacation time for each one-half hour ()f vacation taken. An employee with a regular work day of eight (8J hours shall have eight (8) hours deducted from his accrued vacation time fo)" each day of vacHtion taken. An employee with a regular work shift of twenty-four (24) hours shall have I wpnty- four (24) hours deducted from his accrued vacation time for each shift of vacatjon taken Vacation which is accrued but not taken shal j b(! accumulated." Section J(-;.11 ,lmended to l'ead as follows: of Personnel Rule 16 is hereby 'Section 16.11 Any employet~ in a classification designated as management or confidential shall be provided the option on an annual basis of being compensated at his regular rate of pay for up to one (1) week of vacation accrued but not taken. subject to the following provisions: 16.111 For employees with an average work week of forty (40) hours, a minimum of eighty (80) hou¡'s of vacation must have been used during the previous calendar year. A maximum of forty (40) hours may be paid in cash. 16,112 For employees with an average work week of fjfty~six (56) hours, a minimum of one hundred twelve (112) hours of vacation must have been used during the previous calendar year. A maximum of fifty-six (56) hours may be paid in cash. 16.113 The employee's department head must approve the employee's request for the annual vacation payoff. 16,114 Payment shall be made in January of each year." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this Resolution is Octob(!r 16, 1987. Hm¡'nded. effect.
