i~SOLUTION NO. 64R- 616
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH BECHTEL
CORPORATION WITH REFERENCE TO ENGINEERING
SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH A LIGHTING SYSTEM
FOR THE ANA~IMMUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to employ an
engineer 'to design a complete and adequate lighting system
for night play on nine holes of the Anaheim Municipal Golf
Course and Practice Range; and
~HEREAS, Bechtel Corporation has submitted a proposal
for ehe aforesaid engineering work, under date of May 12, 1964,
the terms and conditions of which, including fees, are satis-
factory to the City; and
~tEREAS, the City and Bechtel Corporation desire to
enter into an agreement for the performance of said engineer-
ing work by Bechtel Corporation, upon the terms and conditions
set forth in said proposal and as hereinafter set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that an agreement be made and entered into
by and between the City of Anaheim and Bechtel Corporation
embodying the following terms and conditions:
1. SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY BECHTEL CORPORATION.
Bechtel Corporation shall study and recommend to the
City which nine holes of the City's municipal golf
course on Gilbert Street should be illuminated, and
shall design a complete and adequate system for
illumination for night play on such nine holes to
provide a minimum of ten-foot candles sustained on
all greens and tees and a minimum of five-foot
candles sustained on all fairways, with all wires
underground. Also included shall be the practice
range on the west side of Gilbert Street.
Bechtel Corporation shall furnish all plans, designs,
bills of material, material and construction speci-
fications as may be necessary for the City of Anaheim
to receive bids and contract for the furnishing and
installation of the lighting system, complete with
lighting standards and luminaries, wiring and controls.
Bechtel Corporation shall provide the City with
tracings and multilith master specifications for the
purpose of providing plans and specifications for
securing bids. Bechtel Corporation shall provide
the City with '~As Built" tracings at ~he
conclusion of the project.
2. DATA TO BE FURNISHED BY CITY.
The City shall furnish to Bechtel Corporation all
necessary plans showing the layout of the golf
course, and locations of irrigation facilities of
the course.

Bechtel Corporation shall be available during
construction to clarify problems which may
arise in order to achieve the purpose of the
plans and specifications.
4. TIME OF COMPLETION.
The engineering work shall be started immediately
upon execution of said agreement by the parties
thereto. The entire engineering work shall be
completed and ready for the final approval of
the City within six (6) weeks from such date of
execution.
5. QUALIFICATIONS .
Ail engineering work shall be done under the
supervision of professional engineers licensed
in the State of California, and all personnel
engaged in the work shall be experienced in
their respective fields.
6. COMPENSATION.
The City shall agree to pay Bechtel Corporation
for its services performed pursuant to said
agreement a total fixed fee of Forty-five Hundred
Dollars ($4,500.00).
Upon completion of plans and specifications and
acceptance by the City of said plans and specifica-
tions, a sum sufficient to equal seventy-five (75)
per cent of the total fixed fee shall be due and
payable.
Upon completion of the construction work and
acceptance by the City of the project, the
remainder of the total fixed fee shall be due
and payable.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
