RESOLUTION NO. 64R
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN AGREEMENT TO BE MADE AND ENTERED INTO BY
AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, DIVISION
OF HIGh.lAYS, DESIGNATED AS AGREEMENT NO. 1654
FOR THE LANDSCAPING OF EMBANKMENT SLOPES OF
THE RIVERSIDE FREEWAY-PLACENTIA AVENUE CROSSING.
~{EREAS, the State of California, through its Depart-
ment of Public Works, Division of Highways, in conjunction with
the construction of the Riverside Freeway, has provided additional
right of way for i-lacentia Avenue and has reconstructed it on
embankment as it approaches the freeway overcrossing; and
WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Public
Works, Division of Hi!.~hways, now proposes to relinquish to the
City of Anaheim in conformance with the Freeway Agreement the
reconstructed portions of Placentia Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City' of Anaheim has requested that the
embankment slopes in the nort'hwest and southwest quadrants of
the Riverside Freeway-P!acentia Avenue crossing be landscaped
prior to relinquishment; and
~'~EREAS, tl~e State of C~lifornia has submitted to the
City of Anaheim an agreement to be made and entered into by and
'between the City and the State wherein the State agrees to
provide at its expense landscaping equivalent to that existing
on adjacent sections of the Riverside Freeway and the City of
Anaheim agrees to maintain at its expense said landscaping upon
completion and a. ccepZance of said landscape contract; and
'~HEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be for
~he benefit and best interest of the City to enter into said
agreement with the State of California;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the Agreement No. 1654 submitted to
the City of Anaheim by tlze State of California, Department of
Public Works, Division of Highways, to be made and entered into
by and between the City of Anaheim and the State of California,
Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, for the land-
scaping of the embankment slopes in the northwest and southwest
q~adrants of the Riverside Freeway-Placentia Avenue crossing to
be provided by the State and maintained by the City, be and the
same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
'be and they are hereby authorized and directed to sign said
agreement for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 7th day of July~ 1964.
