WH.EREA,S~ public convenience and necessity require the
const, ruct:ion and completion of a public improvement in the City
o~ Anaheim,. to wi~~
The construction of concrete masonry block walls,
including footings, cap and reinforcement, and
appurtenant work as more particularly set forth
in the plans and specifications on file in the
Office of the City Clerk or City Engineer, at
the following parksites in the City of Anaheim:
Crescent & Gilbert Parksite, east of
Gilbert Street on Greenacre Avenue, Job No. 789;
Mattie Lou Maxwell Parksite, 2613 Orange
Avenue, Job No. 807; Sunkist & Underhill
Parksite, corner of Sunkist Street and
Underhill Avenue, Job No. 804; and La Palma
Park, corner of La Palma Avenue and Harbor
Boulevard, Job No. 805.
AND WM~R~AS~ the City Council instructed t__he__Public
Works Department to prepare detailed designs,
~~ ~ro i~esq~ ~rawings an-~specifications, and estimates of
quanti~ies and costs and make necessary surveys for the con~
struction of said public improvement~ and
WHEREAS, .said Public Works p~p_~rtment has
prepared said detailed d[~igns~ ~]an--~ Profiles, drawi--J~-and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitted the same to the City Council~ and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed
designs~ plans~ profiles~ drawings and specifications for said
public improvement abeve mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and resi~
dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended,
and that they are adequate for the construction of said public
improvement and should be approved~
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
~f the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
Kent hereinabove mentioned and described, be, and the same
are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public
Works Department o
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve-
me~t shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed
desig~ plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
p~pa~ed by said Public Works Department and hereby
approv~d~ and such addenda or modifications thereto as may be
~proved prior to the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
Ci. ty of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
r:~3 publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
cor~s~ruct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in
~trict accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
._aw~ngs and specifications as prepared by said Public
Works Deoartment , the public improvement hereinabove
,me:~;t~onea and described, and fixing the 25th day of
June 19 64 , at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as
rlhe date and l~6~r f~e opening of said bids at the City
~3ouncil Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
'~ik~:~t said notice shall be published twice, the first of which
i?ablications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date
iixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications
~haJ.1 be at least five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
~idder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract
wi.~k the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
~he City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
!~.stallation and completion of said public improvement herein-
abc, ye mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans
~nd specifications prepared by said Public Works Departm¢~'~
the 'porice inviting sealed proposals, this resolution and all
~p.p!icable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the laws of the
~tate of California, and shall be required to post bonds and
i'asurance in the amounts and within the time required by law,
~ specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
a fo~m approved by the City Attorney.
