A RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION BY THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE
LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION
TO COMMENCE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
ANNEXATION OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
KATELLA YARD PROPERTY TO THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to initiate proceedings
pursuant to the Cortese-Knox Local Governmental Reorganization
Act of 1985, commencing with Section 56000 of the California
Government Code, for the annexation of the County of Orange
Katella Yard property to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed is
uninhabited, and a description of the boundaries of the territory
is set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto and by this reference
incorporated herein (the ~Subject Territory~); and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange, the owner of the Subject
Territory, consents to the request to commence proceedings; and
WHEREAS, the Subject Territory is contiguous to the
corporate limits of the City of Anaheim~ and
WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the sphere of
influence of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the reason for the proposed annexation is as
follows:
1. To provide the opportunity for better coordination of
new development, environmental review and infrastructure
planning.
WHEREAS, this City Council does hereby determine that the
Negative Declaration approved in conjunction with the prezoning
of the subject territory is adequate to serve as the required
environmental documentation for this action.
NOW THEREFORE, this Resolution of Application is hereby
adopted and approved by the City Council of the City of Anaheim
and the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County is
hereby requested to commence proceedings without notice and
hearing and to waive conducting authority proceedings for the
annexation of territory as described in Exhibit A, according to
the terms and conditions stated above and in the manner provided
by the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985.
