Project Plannec Conditional Use Permit Resolution No. ~dherrick@ananeim.net) Chairman pro Tempore Flores opened the public hearing. - Della Herrick, Associate Planner, introduced this item and stated that the installation of an antenna, ~ disguised as a pine tree, is not as favorable as a building mounted stealth facility on taller buildings in the vicinity. Both aerial, photo-simulation and elevation views of the facility were presented. Ms. Herrick also noted that staff recommends denial of this request. Applicant's Statement: Rob Perez, applicant, stated that this location is the only property that can accommodate this type of facility and that the faux pine tree would be the besf design for this use. Other designs such as a'clock tower and a mono pine in conjunction with the installation of three additional live trees were discussed for the project. THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED. ' Commissioner Velasquez wanted to know what height are the live trees that are proposed for the site. Mr. Perez stated that there would be three live 25 foot pine trees at the time of planting. The mono-pine would be 35 feet. There was a general discussion between staff, applicant and the Commission regarding the benefits of installation of a mono pine and the height and type of the facility. The subject of the height difference between the live trees, existing light poles and the mono pine were discussed and whether the live trees could be successfully transplanted to this location. The topic of the installation of this facility at another location with a different design was also discussed.
