PC2000-29 A RESOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM CITY PLANNING COMMISSION ADOPTING AND RECOMME~NDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 372 PERTAINING TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt the Anaheim General Plan by I~esolution No. 69R-644, showing the general description and extent of possible future development within the City; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission directed staff to initiate an amendment to the Land Use Element of the General Plan to redesignate subject property from the Medium Density Residential to the General Commercial designation on a rectangularly-shaped 0.79-acre property having a frontage of 130 feet on the east side of Euclid Street, a maximum depth of 264 feet and being located 548 feet north of the centerline of Ball Road, and further described as 910 South Euclid Avenue; and WHEREAS, this property is developed with a market in the CL "Commercial, Limited" zone and is the northerly portion of a large~ shopping center which is designated General Commercial by the Land Use Element of the General Plan; and WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the Anaheim Civic Center, Council Chamber, 200 South Anaheim Boulevard, on March 13, 2000, at 1:30 p.m., notice of said public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence for and against said General Plan Amendment and to investigate and rnake findings and recommendations in connection therewith; and WHEREAS, said Commission, after due consideration, inspection, investigation and study made by itself, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND: 1. That this property is the northerly portion of a commercial shopping center servicing the local community; and that this amendment is intended to make the Land Use Element of the General Plan consistent with the existing land use (market) and zoning (CL "Commercial, Limited"). 2. That during the public hearung, staff corrected Exhibit A to accurately depict the Land Use designation on the property south of the subject property. 3. That the evidence presented substantiates the need for an amendment to the Anaheim General Plan and that, therefore, Exhibit ,A should be adopted redesignating subject area for General Commercial land uses. 4. That no one at the public N~earing indicated their opposition to the proposal, and that no correspondence was received in opposition. CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT FINDING: That the Anaheim City Planning Commission has reviewed the proposal to amend the Land Use Element of the General Plan to change the current land use designation from Medium Density Residential to General Commercial on a rectangularly-shaped, 0.79-acre property having a frontage of 130 feet on the east side of Euclid Street, a maximum depth of 264 feet and being located 548 feet north of the centerline of Ball Road, and further described as 910 South Euclid Avenue; and does hereby approve the Negative Declaration upon finding that it has considered the Negative Declaration together with any comments received during the public CR3909pk.doc -1- PC2000-29 ~ • review process and further finding on the basis of the initial study and any comments received that there is no evidence that the project will have a significant effect on the environment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to the above findings, the Anaheim City Planning Commission does hereby adopt and recommend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim adoption of General Plan Amendment No. 372, pertaining to the Land Use Element, Exhibit A, to redesignate the study area to the General Commercial land use designation.
