DEPUTY CITY CLERK: Alona M. Fattens, Mayor Chandler called the ~eting to order for the purpose of discussing the acquisition of a Convention Center site. Due to a possible conflict of interest, Mayor Chandler withdrew from the discussion and action on this issue, and Mayor Pro Tem Dutton assumed Chairmanship bf the m~eting. Mayor Pro Tem Dutton inquired as to the status of the proposed acquisition of property having .frontages on the south side of Katella Avenue and the west side of Harbor Boulevard. Mr. Geisler advised that it had been his hope that the City Council would be in position to consider the proposed agreement prepared and delivered to the Council for study on 3anuary 19, 1965, which would have assured title to the convention facility site, however a law suit h'~s been filed on behalf of Mr. Knisely and Associates, involving the Mauerhan, Zahl and Schroeder property~ the Mauerhan and Zahl property bging included in the proposed convention site. Mr. Geisler explained the allegations of the Orange County suit, a~d reported that both the law suit filed in Los Angeles County and now O~ange County, had not been settled, and as a consequence, he was of the o~inion that it would be impossible to proceed at this time. Further, it was his understanding that the Mauerhan and Zahl position is that the Council either agree to the proposed agreement and proceed today, or consider them out of the agreement. Discussion was held on the possibility of eliminating the approximate seven and one half acres of the proposed site, which is involved in the Knisely and Associates case. It was reported that the convention facility building would not be located on this area now in question. A plot map of the proposed convention site was brought to the Council Table, and Mr. Murdoch noted the seven and one half acre parcelas i% will rela~to the convention facility building.
