APPOINTMENT_ LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES BUILDING COMMITTEE: Councilman Chandler reported that Mayor Coons had been appointed Vice-Chairman of the League of California Cities Building Committee. In his opinion, this activity was on behalf of the City of Anaheim, and any expense necessary for the atten- dance of any of these meetings would be considered City expense, and any reasonable expenditure would be approved. Councilmen Dutton and Krein concurred with the above remarks. ADJOURNMENT: Councilman Krein moved to adjourn to January 18, 1963, 3:00 P.M., and also moved waiver of further notice of said adjournment. Councilman Chandler seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED. PRESENT : ABSENT: PRESENT : COUNCILMEN: Dutton, Krein and Coons. COUNCILMEN: Chandler and Schutte. CITY MANAGER: Keith A. Murdoch. CITY ATTORNEY: Joseph Geisler CITY CLERK: Dene M. Williams. CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING_ YORBA LINDA ANNEXATION: Mayor Coons announced that public hearing on the proposed Yorba Linda Annexation to the City of Anaheim was continued from the meeting of January 15, 1963, to allow additional time for report of the City Clerk as to the valuation of protests filed prior to the hour of 7:00 P.M. January 15, 1963. The City Clerk briefed the contents of the following certificate: YORBA LINDA ANNEXATION STATE OF CALIFORNIA COUNTY OF ORANGE ss. CITY OF ANAHEIM I, DENE M. WILLIAMS, City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, do hereby certify that this office has checked the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange, State of California, to ascertain the assessed valua- tion of land, exclusive of improvements thereon, in the proposed annexation to the City of Anaheim designated as the YORBA LINDA ANNEXATION. The following amounts reported herein represent the assessed valuation of land exclusive of improvements within the proposed annexation: The assessed valuation of privately owned land, as corrected, is ........................................... $ 4,757~140. The assessed valuation of mineral rights, is ..... 1,278,980. The assessed valuation appearing on the public utility rolls which the location thereof could be ascer- tained, lS ................................................. 73,750. The assessed valuation of publicly owned land (Orange County Water District) as determined by Hugh J. AND, I FURTHER CERTIFY, to the best of my knowledge and belief, the total assessed valuation of~land, exclusive of improvements thereon, except for those properties where the valuation thereof cannot be determined, in the proposed Yorba Linda Annexation to the City of Anaheim, according to the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange, State of California, is ................... ................. $ 6,124,600. AN~ I FURTHER CERTIFY, that the total assessed valuation of land, exclusive of improvements thereon, who have filed written protests to said annexation, prior to the hour of 7:00 P.M., January l5, 1963, which property I have been able to identify on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange, State of California, includ- ing protests filed by privately owned property, mineral rights, and publicly owned property, is .................... r 1,109,850. FURTHER, written requests to withdraw protests included in the above amount, is ........................... 237,400. DATED this 18th day of January, 1963, 3:00 P.M. Isl Dene M. Williams City Clerk of the City of Anaheim Mayor Coons announced that it clearly appeared that the value of the protests does not approach fifty per cent required by law to terminate the proceedings. Councilman Dutton moved that the City Clerk's certificate be received and filed, and that public hearing be recessed to January 29, 1963, 3:00 P.M., to allow for the filing of supplemental protests. Council- man Krein seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED. Mrs. Stephen Barres, 5272 Cedarlawn Drive, (Cinderella Tract), circulator of petition requesting annexation, advised that many of her neighbors filed protests without having all the facts. As result, a petition requesting the protest be withdrawn was filed with the City Clerk. Mayor Coons asked if anyone else wished to address the City Council, there being no response, declared this public hearing recessed. RECLASSIFICATION NO. 61-62-78 (LIN-BROOK HARDWARE): On the recommendation of the City Attorney, amendment to Declaration of Restrictions filed by Lin-Brook Hardware in Reclassification Proceedings No. 61-62-78 for the parking portion, by amendment thereto of the description therein, was authorized on motion by Councilman Krein, seconded by Councilman Dutton. MOTION CARRIED. (Cancellation of restrictions - westerly four feet) ADJOURNMENT: Councilman Dutton moved to adjourn. Councilman Krein seconded the motion. ~TION CARRIED. (3:17 P.M.)
