Mayor Coons called the meeting to orderG PURCHASES: Mr. Murdoch reported on the following informal bids received for the purchase of Fabricated Structural Steel, to be used in the Lewis Sub- Station (purchase of fabricated material only, with no erection of said material by the supplier)~ and recommended the acceptance of the low bid, that of Coast Iron and Steel. CANCELLATION OF COUNTY TAXES: On motion by Councilman Dutton, seconded by Councilman Krein, Orange County Board of Supervisors were requested to cancel County taxes on property acquired by the City of Anaheim for public purposes, pursuant to Resolution NO$ 63R-S27, from Corporation of the Presiding Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, as recorded in Book 6627, Page 714. MOTION CARRIED. CANCELLATION OF CITY TAXES: On motion by Councilman Schutte, seconded by Councilman Krein, cancellation of City taxes was authorized on property acquired by California Division of Highways from WNJ Investment, Inc. as recorded in Book 6574, Page 656, of Official Records in the Office of the County Recorder of Orange County. MOTION CARRIED. ADJOURNMENT: Councilman Dutton moved to adjourn to July 26, 1963, 2:00 P.M., and also moved waiver of further notice of said adjournment$ Councilman Krein seconded the motion. The City Council of the City of Anaheim met in adjourned regular session. ABSENT: PRESENT: COUNCILMEN: Dutton, Chandler, Schutte (entered the meeting, 2:l0 P.M.), Krein and Coons. COUNCILMEN: Noneo CITY MANAGER: Keith A. Murdoch. ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER: Robert Davis. CITY ATTORNEY: Joseph Geisler. CITY CLERK: Dene M. Williams. PRESENT: Mayor Coons called the meeting to order. PROPOSED BUDGET - 1963-64: Discussion was held on the proposed 1963-64 Budget for the City of Anaheim. The Budget was reviewed by the City Council and consideration given to each department and activities noted and proposed therein. ACCOUNT NO. lO-220-5.44: It was moved by Councilman Dutton, seconded by Councilman Schutte, that Account No. 10-220-5.44, Visitors and Convention Bureau, be supplemented to a total maximum working fund of $27,000. After further discussion~ the above motion was withdrawn by Councilman Dutton; the above second was withdrawn by Councilman Schutte, as it was determined this matter could be handled by transfer of funds if at a later date it was found necessary. ACCOUNT NO. lO-22l-9.2 - CONVENTION HALL:Ihe City Council requested a notation be made that the $200,000 estImated expenditure be earmarked for possible future recovery from the fund created by the 4% Motel-Hotel Business LIcense Tax. The City Manager and his staff were complimented by the City Council on the Budget document, whIch in their oplnlon3 reflected a conservative and well-balanced program for the coming year.
