RESOLUTION NO. 70R-480
A RESOL~ION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANARE APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
GENERAL LAN DESIGNATED AS AMENDMENT NO. 120.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, pursuant to the recommen-
dation of the Planping Commission, adopted a General Plan for
the City of Anaheitn showing the general description and extent of
the land uses wit~n the City of Anaheim and indicating the present
policies of the C~ncil as to future development and redevelopment
of land within the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did consid~r and determine that a need existed for the
establishment of ~all parks to supplement the community and
neighborhood park :system within the City; and
WHEREAS,. the Anaheim General Plan presently does not
include such "mini~parks" in the Parks, Recreation and Open Space -
Community Faciliti~s Element of said plan; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim
did hold a public ~earing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim
on the 13th day of! July, 1970, and pursuant to a request by the
Commission did hol~ a public rehearing on the 24th day of August,
1970, to consider an amendment to the Anaheim General Plan by
adding the defini-qion of "mini-parks" and including mini-parks in
the Parks, Recrea~ion and Open Space - Community Facilities
Element, and at s~d hearings did receive evidence and reports
from persons interested therein; and
WHEREAS, following said hearings the Planning Commission
did duly adopt Resplution PC 70-131 containing a report of its
findings, a summa~ of the evidence presented at said hearings,
and a recommendatipn that said amendment to the General Plan,
designated as Ame~ent No. 120, be adopted by the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of said resolution, summary of
report of findingsi, and recommendations of the City Planning
Commission, the C~y Council did fix the 6th day of October, 1970
as the time and the Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City
of Anaheim as the place for a public hearing upon said proposed
Amendment No. 120 to the General Plan and did give notice thereof
in the manner and as provided by law; and
WHEREAS,. at the time and place fixed for said public
hearing the City qouncil did duly hold and conduct such public
hearing and did g~iye all persons interested therein an opportunity
to be heard and d~ receive evidence and reports and did there-
upon consider the recommendations of the City Planning Commission;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
Amendment No. 120 to the General Plan, adding the definition of
"mini-parks" and ~he inclusion of mini-parks in the Parks,
Recreation and Op<<n Space - Community Facilities Element of the
General Plan, should be approved.

NOW, THE~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anahe~ that General Plan Amendment No. 120 adding
to the text of the General Plan - Community Facilities Element -
in Planning Area ~ under Parks, Recreation and open Space -
Objectives and policies as follows:
"Design and qevelop Mini-Parks which supplement the
Community an~ Neighborhood park systems and help
meet special irecreation needs."
be, and the same ~s hereby approved.
BE, IT ~URTHER RESOLVED that Mini-Parks shall be
defined as follow~:
"A park of l~ited size designed to meet the special
needs of cer~ain neighborhoods. These parks may con-
tain childre~'s play equipment, a multi-purpose court,
and picnic f~cilities."

BE IT F$RTHER RESOLVED that the Planning Department be,
and it is hereby ~nstructed to amend the General Plan to conform
to General Plan ~endment No. 120 herein approved.
THE FORtGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
