A RESOLUTION OF: THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIMiDENYING VARIANCE NO. 2180
The South 170.40 fe~t of the portion of the Northwest
quarter of the Nort~west quarter of the Southeast quarter
of Section 22, Townfhip 4 South, Range 10 West, in the
Rancho San Juan Caj~n de Santa Ana, as shown on a map
recorded in book 5l~ page 10, Miscellaneous Maps, records
of Orange County, C~lifornia, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the West line of said Southeast
quarter of Section ?2, distant South 00 14' 30" East 298.40
feet from the cente; of said section, said center point being
the intersection of the center line of Cerritos Avenue from
the West with the N~rth and South quarter section line of
said section; thenc~ from said point of beginning North 890
56' 00" East 660.70 feet to a one-inch iron pipe, as shown
on a Map filed in B~ok 15, page 4 of Record of Surveys in
the Office of the C~unty Recorder of Orange County; thence
South 00 IS' 0011 Ea$t 340.76 feet to a one-inch iron pipe, as
shown on said survey; thence South 890 55' 30" West 660.75
feet to a point on $aid West line of the Southeast quarter,
distant South 00 14' 30n East 639.26 feet from the center of
said section; thence North 00 14' 30" West 340.86 feet to
the point of beginning.
EXCEPTING the North 85.20 feet of the West 400.00 feet of
said land.

AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold
a public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim on
June 29 , 19~ti notice of which said public hearing
was duly given as required y law and the provisions of Title
18, Chapter 18.76 of the An.heim Municipal Code; and

WHEREAS, :said City Planning Commission, after due
inspection, investigation and studies made by itself and in its
behalf, and after dlue consideration of all evidence and reports
offered at said hea~ing, did adopt Resolution No. PC70-l08 ,
Series 19 70 , . denying said variance ; and

WHEREAS, ~hereafter, within twenty-two (22) days from
the date of the adoption of said resolution, a written appeal
was filed with the f:ity Council of the City of Anaheim protesting
the action of the C!ty Planning Commission denying said
variance, and said ~ppeal was set for public hearing on the 4th
day of Auqust. , 19 70 , at 1:30 o'clock P.M. at the
City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and notice of such public hear-
ing was duly given ~s required by law and the provisions of
Title 18, Chapter la.76 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, ffter due investigation and studies made by
itself and in its b~half, and after due consideration of all the
evidence and report~ offered at said hearing, the City Council
does find and determine that:
1.
Ther~ is no substantial property right possessed
by o~her property in the same vicinity and zone
and ~enied the subject property.
2.
It appears that the subject property can be
adeq~ately developed and used under the present
zone~
NOW, THER$FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim: that the action of the City Planning Commission
denying said varianpe be, and the same is hereby, sustained and
that the petition fpr a zoning variance to construct a new free
standing sign on c-k zoned property with the following waivers:
a. Section 1~.37.040(B-3-a) - Maximum permitted display
area. (170 square feet
permitted; 348 square feet
proposed) .
b.
Section 1~.37.040(B-4)
- Permitted sign location.
(Sign required to be 34 feet
from the north property line;
sign is proposed at 32 feet
from north property line).
on the property hereinbefore described be and the same is hereby
denied.
THE FOREG~ING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 4th day of Au~st, 1970.
