A RESOLUTIO~ OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FIN ING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AN NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLET ON OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT:
THE LEWIS-C RRITOS STORM DRAIN IMPROVE T
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM WORK ORDER NO 7-
,
APPROVING T E DESIGNS, PLANS, PROFILES, DRAWINGS
AND SPECIF~ ATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING! THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM-
PROVE~mNT I~ ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECI-
FICATIONS, ~TC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY Ca:RK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPPSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, P9blic convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement in the City
of Anaheim, to wit: '
The Lewis-cerritos storm drain improvement on Lewis
from Katella tOICerritos and on Cerritos from Lewis
to Vernon consi~ting of approximately 4000 lineal
feet of 33" to 18" R.C.P., jacking of 51" and 75" R.C.P.,
R.C.B. transititn structure, catch basins, manholes,
trench resurfac ng and all other appurtenant work as
sho~ on,the pI nS,and delinea~ed in the specifications
on f1le 1n the. ff1ce of the C1ty Clerk or City Engineer,
Work Order No. $78-B.
AND WHEREA , the City Council instructed the
Department of P blic Works to prepare detailed designs,
plans, profiles, dra ~ngs and spec~ ~cations, and estimates of
quantities and costs! and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of said pu~lic improvement: and
WHEREAS, s~id Department of Public Works has
prepared said detail~d designs, plans, profIles, drawings and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitted the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, tpe City Council finds that the detailed
designs, plans, prof~les, drawings and specifications for said
public improvement apove mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practice! and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and

residents in said are~ for the purposes for which they are
intended, and that th~y are adequate for the construction of
said public improveme~t and should be approved.

NOW, THEREfORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim tiat the detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings and specific tions for said public improvement herein-
above mentioned and d scribed, be, and the same are hereby,
approved and adopted . s prepared by said Department of
Public Works ! .
AND BE IT fURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement
shall be constructed ~n accordance with said detailed designs,
plans, profiles, draw~ngs and specifications as prepared by said
Department of P blic Works and hereby
approved, and such ad enda or modifications thereto as may be
approved prior to the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTaER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim be, and sh~ is hereby, authorized and directed to
publish a notice acco~ding to law, inviting sealed proposals for
the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, and all ut~lities and transportation, including power,
fuel and water, and p~rforming all work necessary to construct
and complete, in a gopd and workmanlike manner, in strict accor-
dance with said detai~ed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and
specifications as prepared by said Department of Public
Works I, the public improvement hereinaoove men-
tioned and described, and fixing the 23rd day of July
19 70 , at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the date and hour
for-tne opening of sa~d bids at the City Council Chamber in the
City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be
published twice, the first of which publications shall be at
least ten (10) days p~ior to the date fixed for the opening of
bids, and that said pUblications shall be at least five (5) days
apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder
or bidders shall be r~quired to enter into a contract with the
City of Anaheim in th~ manner and form approved by the City
Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction, installa-
tion and completion of said public improvement hereinabove
mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans and speci-
fications prepared by said Department of Public Works
, the notice inv1ting sealed proposals,
this resolution and a:ll applicable City Ordinances or Code
Sections and the laws of the State of California, and shall be
required to post bonds and insurance in the amounts and within
the time required by law, as specified in the notice inviting
sealed proposals, and in a form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
