RESOLUTION NO. 70R- 277
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINqING THAT ALL PROPERTY WITHIN
THE CITY SHOULQ BE EXEMPT FROM COUNTY STRUC-
TURAL FIRE PRO~ECTION TAX.
WHEREAS, SectiQn 25643 of the Government Code of the State
of California estab]ishes the procedure whereby property within
incorporated cities may be exempt from county tax levies for
structural fire protection; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds after due study and
deliberation that all of the qualifications for said exemption
exist and are as follows:
1. That the Gity of Anaheim has an organized Fire
Department in operation and existence at the present
time.
2. That said Fire Department is providing adequate
structural fire protection to all property within
the incorporated limits of the City.
3. That no a~ditional benefit in fire protection is
received or required by such property from struc-
tural fire protection given by the County of Orange.
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that a petition be presented to the Orange
County Board of Supervisors, in writing, requesting the exclusion
of all property within the City of Anaheim from the levy of
taxes for structural fire protection, and that the City Manager
of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to so petition the said Board of Supervisors and to
provide them with a certified copy of this resolution.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 2nd day of June, 1970.
