RESOLUTION NO. 70R-25l
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
DECLARING I1rS INTENTION TO MAKE CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS UNDER
THE AUTHORl~Y OF THE STREET LIGHTING ACT OF 1931, DESCRIBING
THE lMPROVEtmNTS TO BE MADE, NAMING THE STREETS UPON WHICH
THE IMPROvQ:1ENTS ARE TO BE MADE, REFERRING TO THE REPORT OF
THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE
CITY CLERK, FIXING THE PERIOD OF TIME FOR WHICH THE IMPROVE-
MENTS ARE TO BE MADE, AND SETTING A TIME AND PLACE FOR
HEARING PRotESTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim is of the op~n~on
that public interest or convenience requires that a portion of the street light-
ing system be maintained and serviced upon certain streets in the City of Anaheim,
as hereinafter set forth; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did require the Superintendent of Streets
to make and file with the City Clerk a written report with regard to the con-
templated improvements; and
WHEREAS, said report of the Superintendent of Streets was approved
by the City Council of the City of Anaheim on the 19th day of May 1970, by
Resolution No. 70R-250 , and filed with the City Clerk;
NOW, THEREFCI>RE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim, as follows:
1. Public interest or convenience does require that improvements
be made to certain property in the City of Anaheim, and the
City Co.nci1 of the City of Anaheim does hereby declare its
intention to make the following described improvements under
the authority of the Street Lighting Act of 1931.
2. The impJtovements to be made are the maintenance and servicing
of an ornamental type street lighting system along and upon
the fo11owing streets within or along the boundaries of
Tract No. 2874 in the City of Anaheim, to wit:
a. Sto~eybrook Drive
b. Ke~re Street
c. Verona Street
d. Sy1~an Street
e. She~ri11 Street
f. Keys Lane
g. Westhaven Drive
EXCEPT~ THEREFROM certain parcels on Stoneybrook Drive and
KenmoreStreet as indicated in the report of the Superintendent
of Streets.
3. A report of the Superintendent of Streets has been approved by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim and is on file with the
City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, designated "Street Lighting
Maintenance District 1965-1"B." Said report contains an
estimate of the cost of the improvements and incidental expenses
for the period of time the improvements are to be made, a diagram
or map showing the streets affected and showing each lot or
parcel of land abutting such streets, a proposed assessment of
the total amount of the estimated cost and expenses upon the
several lots or parcels of land shown on the diagram or map
in proportion to the estimated benefits to be received by
each lot or parcel of land for the period of time of the
improvements, and plans and specifications setting out the
general type of street lighting and the location of the lights

to be serviced and maintained; and reference to such
report is hereby made as though set forth in full herein,
and all persons are directed to such report on file with
the City Clerk for more particulars.
4. The p~riod of time for which the improvements are to be
made is hereby set at five (5) years, to commence on or
about September 1, 1970, and to continue for five (5)
years from such date.
AND BE ITJroRTHER RESOLVED that the 23rd day of June 1970, at
the hour of 1:30 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall in the
City of Anaheim, is he1teby declared as the day, hour and place, when and where
any and all persons having any objections to the proposed improvements or to
the assessment as set forth in the report of the Superintendent of Streets,
may appear before the legislative body and show cause why the proposed improve-
ments should not be canried out in accordance with the report of the Superin-
tendent of Streets on file with the City Clerk. Protests must be in writing
and must contain a desoription of the property in which each signer thereof
is interested, and be delivered to the City Clerk not later than the time set
for the hearing. Protests may be against the proposed improvements or against
the estimated amount of the assessment.
BE IT E'tJrolHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Streets of the
City of Anaheim shall oause notice of the improvements and of the passage of
this Resolution of Intention to be conspicuously posted along the lines of
the contemplated improvements, at not more than 300 feet apart, but not less
than three (3) in a11,and such posting shall be fully completed at least ten
(10) days before the date set for hearing of protests or objections. The
contents of such notice shall be in conformity with the requirements of the
Street Lighting Act of 1931.
BE IT FURJlHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim
be, and she is hereby directed to publish this Resolution of Intention by
insertion in the Anahetm Bulletin, a daily newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim. Such publication
shall be not 1ess than ten (10) days prior to the date of public hearing as
set forth in this Resolution.
