RESOLUTION NO. 70R- 130
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHE:tM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
PURCHASE OF CAST IRON WATER PIPE AND FITTINGS
IS NECES~ARY FOR THE WATER DEPARTMENT; APPROV-
ING THE $PECIFICATIONS THEREOF; AND DIRECTING
THE PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR
THE FURN~SHING OF SAID PIPE AND FITTINGS.
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that public conven~nce and necessity require the purchase and
acquisition of cast iron water pipe and fittings for use by
the Water Department of the City of Anaheim in the amounts
hereinafter specified; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that
the specifications prepared and submitted to the City Council
by the Utilities D~ector for said pipe and fittings, entitled
"Specifications for Cast Iron Water Pipe, Series of 1970, City
of Anaheim," are adequate for the purpose and should be approved;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that a notice should be published inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of said pipe and fittings in the amounts
hereinafter specified, and in accordance with the specifica-
tions prepared by said Utilities Director and herein approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Counci 1 of
the City of Anaheim that all cast iron water pipe and fittings
hereinafter specified shall conform to the specifications there-
for prepared by the Utilities Director of the City of Anaheim
and hereby approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there shall be purchased
for the Water Department of the City of Anaheim cast iron water
pipe and fittings in the following approximate quantities, and
of the following sizes and descriptions:
ITEM I 1,000 feet of 4 inch cast iron pipe
ITEM II 3,000 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe
ITEM III 6,000 feet of 8 inch cast iron pipe
ITEM IV 7,000 feet of 10 inch cast iron pipe
ITEM V 7,000 feet of 12 inch cast iron pipe
ITEM VI 30,000 pounds of Tyton Joint Fittings
ITEM VII 20,000 pounds of regular fittings, caulk type
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and
she is hereby, authorized and directed to publish a notice in
the Anaheim BUlletin, in the manner and form as required by law,
inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of said pipe and
fittings above described, and directing that said sealed proposals
will be received at the Office of the City Clerk of the City of
Anaheim up to the hour of 2:00 P.M. on the 2nd day of April, 1970.
