WHL?~AS, it is provided in Section 2107.2 of the
Streets and Highways Code tllat any city whose population has
increased substantially since the last Federal Census may
apply to the Department of Finance of the State of California
to estimate the increase in population; and
WHEPLAS, said Section 2187.2 furL~er provides tllat
the Department of Finance may make the estimate if, in the
opinion of the Department I there is avail~)le adequate infor-
mation upon which to base the cstiIllate, and
~vHB?J::;i\S r the Department has ascertained and deter--
mined that the records of the City of Anaheim contain adequate
information upon which to base the estimate, and
WliERLAS, tile City desires to have ele Department
estimate the increase in population of ele City, and b~e Depart-
ment is vlilling to make such estimation upon the terms and
conditions as contained in tile agreement tendered to the City
by the Department of Finance, and
WHElillAS, b~e City Council does find and determine
tllat the terms and conditions of said agreement are fair and
reasonable and tllat it would be to the advantage and for the
best interest or the City to have tile Department of Finance
make an estimate of the increase in population of the City
of Anaheim since tile last census.
NO\"J I 'I'HEI;EFORL, BE IT IlliSOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the Department of Finance of the
State of California be, and it is hereby, authorized to make
an estimate of the increase in population of the City from
all available records and other information made available
to said Department and to determine the estimated present
population of tile City upon the terms and conditions of L~e
agreement tendered to the City of Anaheim by the Department
of Finance and this day subnli tted to the City Council, which
agreement is hereby approved and tlle execution thereof auth-
orized.
BE I'l' FUR'rhBF: RESOLVED that said Department of Finance
be compensated in the manner and in the amount as set forth
in said agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVbD that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to
execute said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim
and to forward the executed copies of said agreement to the
Department of Finance to be executed by the Director thereof.
