RESOLUTION NO. 83R-326
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ENCOURAGING ALL CITY OF ANAHEIM EMPLOYEES
TO SUPPORT THE CITY'S SAFETY PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, each year hundreds of City of Anaheim employees,
citizens, and visitors suffer injuries and property damage losses
through all types of accidents; and
WHEREAS, the claims arising out of these accidents cost
the City of Anaheim millions of dollars annually; funds which
could be more productively used for other public purposes; and
WHEREAS, with the current rebuilding and upgrading of the
City's safety program, more emphasis will be placed on City-wide
safety and loss prevention in the employee injury area as well as
in the general public injury and property damage areas; and
WHEREAS, this Council recognizes that a critical factor
to the success of a City safety program is the realization and
belief that the safety of the Public and of fellow employees is
the responsiblity of each and every City of Anaheim employee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the Anaheim City Council and the City's top
management personnel support an active and effective safety
program; and that the Council calls upon all City employees to
perform their individual duties and functions in a safe and
careful manner and to make Anaheim a safer place in which to live,
work and visit.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this IGt:trlay of August, 1983.
