RESOLUTION NO. 83R-422
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF THE FOYER CANOPY ENTRANCE AT THE ANAHEIM
CONVENTION, ACCOUNT NO. 24-969-7107.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did
cause to be published in a newspaper of general circulation,
published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to wit: The
Anaheim Bulletin, on the 22nd and 29th days of September, 1983, a
notice inviting sealed proposals for furnishing the following:
All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and
all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel
and water, and performing all work necessary to
construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner,
in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and
drawings therefor on file in the Office of the City
Engineer or City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the
following public improvement, to wit:
Foyer canopy at the Convention Center, in the City of
Anaheim, consisting of steel framing, roofing, sheet
metal, electrical, sound systems, fascia panels and door
installation as shown on the plans and delineated in the
specification for this project on file in the office of
the City Engineer. All construction shall be in
conformance with the plans and specifications, Account
No. 24-969-7107,
in accordance with the design, plans, profiles and specifications
of said public improvement on file in the Office of the City Clerk
of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, one and only one bid was received from R.G.
Construction Company of Costa Mesa, California, in the amount of
$32,911.00; and
WHEREAS, after staff review, it is hereby determined that
the funds allocated for this project are insufficient to perform
this contract at this amount; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended that the City
Council reject the above mentioned bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the bid from R. G. Construction Company in the
amount of $32,911.00 be, and it is hereby, rejected.
