RESOLUTION NO. 83R-479
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC
CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUC-
TION AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT,
TO WIT:
SOUTH STREET WATER IMPROVEMENTS PHASE II B, IN
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, ACCOUNT NO. 53-606-6329-
17350-34360.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement in the City of
~naheim, to wit:
South Street Water Improvements Phase II B consisting
of the construction of a steel pipe casing under the
Santa Ana Freeway and the installation of an 18 inch
water main in South Street between the limits of
Illinois Street and Manchester Avenue in the City of
Anaheim. All work shall be accomplished per plans and
specifications for this project on file in the office
of the City Engineer, Account No. 53-606-6329-17350-
34360; and
WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Public Works
Department to prepare detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings
and specifications, and estimates of quantities and costs and make
necessary surveys for the construction of said public improvement;
and
WHEREAS, said Public Works Department has prepared said
detalled designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for
the construction of said public improvement and has submitted the
same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said
rublic improvement above mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
cequirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and residents
n said area for the purposes for which they are intended, and that
they are adequate for the construction of said public improvement
3nd should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
ity of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, draw-
Ings and specifications for said public improvement hereinabove
nentioned and described be, and the same are hereby, approved and
3dopted as prepared by said Public Works Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement
shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as prepared by said
Public Works Department and hereby approved, and such addenda or
modifications thereto as may be approved prior to the awarding of
t-,ids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
f Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to pub-
Lish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals for the
furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment,
~nd all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and
water, and performing all work necessary to construct and com-
plete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with
said detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifica-
ions as prepared by said Public Works Department, the public
lmprovements hereinabove mentioned and described, and fixing the
26th day of January, 1984, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the
'iate and hour for the opening of said bids at the City Council
"harnber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that said
~tice shall be published twice, the first of which publications
hall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the
Jpening of bids, and that said publications shall be at least five
5) days apart.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or
cidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City
f Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of
the City of Anaheim for the construction, installation and comple-
tion of said public improvement hereinabove mentioned and
described, in accordance with the plans and specifications pre-
pared by said Public Works Department, the notice inviting sealed
proposals, this resolution and all applicable City Ordinances or
_ode Sections and the laws of the State of California, and shall
e required to post bonds and insurance in the amounts and within
the time required by law, as specified in the notice inviting
sealed proposals, and in a form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
ity Council of the City of Anaheim this 20th day of December,
