RESOLUTION NO. 83R-482
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO
INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING
PROGRAM CERTAIN HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
(1984-1985)
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve the
following streets:
Lincoln Avenue - Sunkist to State College Boulevard
Anaheim Boulevard - Lemon Street to Cypress Street
Kraemer Boulevard - Crowther Avenue to South City Limits
Harbor Boulevard - Broadway to 1-5
WHEREAS, the aforementioned streets are important
arteries in the County of Orange and of general County interest~
and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2
of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so
desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement,
construction or repair of a street within a City~ and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by
appropriate action, provide in the County of the Special Road
Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1984 and 1985 a sum of money
for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of
the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway
Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim requests, and it
does hereby request, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange to allocate to the City of Anaheim, from County funds, the
amounts set forth below, said amounts to be matched by funds from
said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of the
streets set forth herein and for the acquisition of rights-of-way
and the specific amounts in connection with each project are as
set forth below:
$60,000
Lincoln Avenue - Sunkist Street to
State College Boulevard
This is a construction project. The proposed
work will widen a portion of Lincoln Avenue to
ultimate width and construct and modify
medians to improve traffic control.

Anaheim Boulevard - Lemon Street to
Cypress Street
This is a right-of-way project and the first
of a multi-year project to widen and improve
Anaheim Boulevard. The first phase project
will begin preliminary engineering and right
of way appraisal work.

Kraemer Boulevard - Crowther Avenue to South
City Limit
This is a construction project. The scope of
the project is to reconstruct localized areas
of failure and to rehabilitate and resurface
the remainder of the roadway.
$340,000
Harbor Boulevard - Broadway to 1-5
This is a construction project. The scope of
the project is to reconstruct localized areas
of failure and to rehabilitate and resurface
the remainder of the roadway.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said works
and acquisition of rights-of-way as set forth above are in the
general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that by this resolution that the
City of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial
Highways Financing Pr<>9ram~ and further agrees that its share of
the cost of improvements and rights-of-way will be available for
the Fiscal Year 1984-1985.
AND BE IT FU~HER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and
she is hereby, authoriJzed and directed to forward a certified
copy of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange
County, California, and a certified copy to the County Surveyor
and Road Commissioner at 400 Civic Center Drive West, Santa Ana,
California.
