RESOLUTION NO. 83R--92
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM CONFIRMING EXISTENCE OF
A LOCAL EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, Chapter 6.04 of the Anaheim Municipal Code
empowers the Director of Emergency Services to proclaim the
existence or threatened existence of a local emergency when
said city is affected or likely to be affected by a public
calamity and the City Council is not in session, subject to
ratification by the City Council within seven days; and
WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of
persons and property have arisen within this city, caused by
storm, heavy rains and flooding, commencing on or about 10:00 A.M.
on the 3rd day of March, 1983, at which time the City Council of
the City of Anaheim was not in session; and
WHEREAS, said City Council does hereby find that the
aforesaid conditions of extreme peril did warrant and necessitate
the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Services of the
City of Anaheim did proclaim the existence of a local emergency
within said city on the 3rd day of March, 1983; and
WHEREAS, said Proclamation of Existence of a Local
Emergency expired pursuant to Section 6.04.060.0101 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code and a new Proclamation was issued on
March 10, 1983; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to confirm the existence of a
local emergency by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED
that the Proclamation of Existence of a Local Emergency, as
issued by said Director of Emergency Services, is hereby ratified
and confirmed by the City Council of the City of Anaheim; and
IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that said local
emergency shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termina-
tion is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of Anaheim,
State of California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 15th day of March, 1983.
