RESOLUTION NO. 84R-144
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM SUPPORTING PROPOSITION 18 WHICH. PLACES
BEFORE THE VOTERS OF CALIFORNIA JUNE 5, 1984 A BOND
MEASURE TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR PARKS AND RECREATIONAL
LAND ACQUISITION, DEVELOPMENT AND OTHER RELATED
PURPOSES
WHEREAS, parks and recreation programs vastly enhance our
environment and out lives; and
WHEREAS, leisure facilities and open spaces in both urban
and rural areas are a necessity to life, since they have a
substantial effect on mental and physical health, economic
productivity and social problems; and
WHEREAS, Proposition 18 would place before the voters of
California a measure to provide financing of a program of
acquiring, developing, or restoring real property for state and
local park, beach, recreational or historical resources
preservation purposes; and
WHEREAS., ,the proposed program will make available
additional, or augment existing, recreation areas and add or
improve facilities in and near population centers; and
WHEREAS, enhancement of parks, conservation of natural
resources and historic preservation projects have a direct
economic benefit to our community and the state as a whole; and
moreover, will benefit the health and well-being of Californians.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the
City Council of the City of Anaheim goes on record in support of
Proposition 18.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
Ci ty Council of the Ci ty of Anaheim this 17th day of April, 1984.
