A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ~EIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO
INCLupE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING
PROG~ CERTAIN HIGHWAY IMRPOVEMENT PROJECTS
(1985~1986)
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve the
following streets:
Anahedm Boulevard - Lemon Street to Cypress Street
Lakev;iew Avenue - Orangethorpe Avenue to La Palma
Avenue
WHEREAS, the aforementioned streets are important arteries
in the County of Orange and of general County interest; and
WHEREAS, ~ticle 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of
the Streets and Hig~ays Code authorizes a County, if it so
desires, to expend ~unds apportioned to it from the California
Highway Users Tax FUnd for aid to any City in the improvement,
construction or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange
intends, by appropriate action, to provide in the Special Road
Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1985-1986 a sum of money for
the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the
County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway
Financing Program.
NOW, THERE~RE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim tha~ the City of Anaheim requests the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to the City of
Anaheim, from Countv funds, the amounts set forth below, said
amounts to be match~ by funds from City of Anaheim said Funds to
be used to aid the City of Anaheim in the improvement of the
streets set forth herein and for the acquisition of rights-of-way
and the specific amounts in connection with each project are as set
forth below:

This is a construction project to rehabilitate
and widen Lakeview one to four travel lanes
which is undertaken in cooperation with the City
of Placentia.

Anaheim Boulevard - lemon Street to Cypress
Street

This is a right-of-way project and the second
year of a multi-year project to widen and
improve Anaheim Boulevard. The second phase
'project will continue engineering and
right-of-way acquisition.
BE IT FUR1sER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said works
and acquisition of rights-of-way as set forth above are in the
general County interest.
BE IT FUR1HER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim agrees
with the basic conqepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program;
and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and
rights-of-way will be available for the Fiscal Year 1984-1985.
BE IT FUR1HER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is
hereby, authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this
resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange County,
California, and a certified copy to the County Surveyor and Road
Commissioner at 40Q Civic Center Drive West, Santa Ana, California.
THE FOREGQING ORDINANCE is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 18th day of December, 1984.
