AUTHORIZING'AYMENT ~HEREFOR.

WHEREAS, frJm September 5 to September 9, 1984, a heat
wave occurred in the}tityof Anaheifm, the severity of which: caused
extensive damage to ~he City's electric utility facilities,
resulting in widespr~ad electric transformer powetoutages and
overloads; and '
WHEREAS, be1'ause of the magnitude of the damage, City of
Anaheim employees we e working around the clock and required time
to rest; and ,
WHEREAS, tht City's Public Utilities General Manager,
because of the emerg ncy and in order to restore electrical\power
in a timely manner, as required to employ Hampton Tedder Electric
Company, Incorporate ("HTEC"), to help available City crews to
rest~e electric ser ices on September 8 and September 9, 1984; and
WHEREAS, HT C has submitted to the City of Anaheim an
invoice in the amoun of $12,632.00 for labor and equipment in
connection with serv ces provided to restore electrical power; and
NOW, THEREF~RE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City

retaining HTEC be, a,d it is hereby, ratified.
