A RESOLUT~N OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEI FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC
CONVENIEN AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUC-
TION AND MPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT,
TO WIT: '
CERRITOS~'. NUE-STATE COLLEGE BOULEVARD TO
ANAHEIM B LEVARD STREET IMPROVEMENT, IN THE
CITY OF . . 1M, ACCOUNT NOS. l2-793-6325-E3550
AND 51-48 6993-00710 - FEDERAL AID URBAN
PROJECT - IL059(3).
WHEREAS, gublic convenience and necessity require the
construction and co~pletion of a public improvement in the City of
Anaheim, to wit:'
Cerritos Avenu -State College Boulevard to Anaheim
Boulevard stre t improvement, in the City of Anaheim,
consisting of learing and grubbing; excavation;
construction 0 P.C.C. curb and gutter, driveway and
sidewalk; cons ruction of asphalt concrete pavement;
placement of b se material; A.C. planing and profiling;
construction 0 R.C.P. storm drain and catch basin;
relocation of ,raffic signals and construction of
traffic loops; ;placement of reflective pavement
markers; and a~purtenant work in accordance with the
project plans 4nd specifications on file in the office
of the City En9,ineer, Account Nos. 12-793-6325-E3550
and 5l-484-699j-00710 - Federal Aid Urban Project -
L059(3); and
WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Public Works
Department to prepa*e detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings
and specifications,!and estimates of quantities and costs and make
necessary surveys f~r the construction of said public improvement;
and
WHEREAS, ~aid Public Works Department has prepared said
detailed designs, pians, profiles, drawings and specifications for
the construction of' said public improvement and has submitted the
same to the City Co~ncil; and
~
WHEREAS, ~he City Council finds that said detailed
designs, plans, pro~iles, drawings and specifications for said
public improvement ~bove mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practic~ and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the: City of Anaheim and the citizens and residents
in said area for th~ purposes for which they are intended, and that
they are adequate f~r the construction of said public improvement
and should be appro~ed.

NOW, THEREt~RE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim thatithe detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings and specifi~ations for said public improvement hereinabove
mentioned and descri~,ed be, and the same are hereby, approved and
adopted as prepared ~y said Public Works Department.
BE IT FURT~ER RESOLVED that said public improvement shall
be constructed in ac~ordance with said detailed designs, plans,
prOfiles, drawings aqp specifications as prepared by said Public
Works Department and !hereby approved, and such addenda or
modifications thereto! as may be approved prior to the awarding of
bids therefor.
BE IT FURTH~R RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Anaheim be, and she iI" hereby, authorized and directed to publish a
notice according to 1 W, inviting sealed proposals for the
furnishing of all pla,t, labor, services, materials and equipment,
and all utilities anditransportation, including power, fuel and
water, and performing!all work necessary to construct and cOmplete,
in a good and workman~ike manner, in strict accordance with said
detailed designs, pla~s, profiles, drawings and specifications as
prepared by said Publtc Works Department, the public improvements
hereinabove mentioned ~nd described, and fixing the 18th day of
October, 1984, at the ~our of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the date and
hour for the opening o~ said bids at the City Council Chamber in
the City Hall in the C~ty of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be
pUblished twice, the f~rst of which PUblications shall be at least
ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids, and
that said PUblications shall be at least five (5) days apart.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the succ~ssful bidder or
bidders shall be requi~ed to enter into a contract with the City of
Anaheim in the manner 4nd form approved by the City Attorney of the
City of Anaheim for the construction, installation and completion
of said pUblic improve~ent hereinabove mentioned and described, in
accordance with the pl~s and specifications prepared by said
Public Works Departmen~, the notice inviting sealed proposals, this
resolution and all appl,icable Ci ty Ordinances or Code Sections and
the laws of the State of California, and shall be required to post
bonds and insurance in the amounts and within the time required by
law, as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in a
form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 18th day of September,
1984.
