A RESOLUTIfN OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHE~IMIRECOMMEN~ING GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS
AT JOHN WA . E AIRPORT AS OUTLINED IN THE 1984
MASTER P .
WHEREAS, t.e City ot Anaheim recognizes the importance of
improved air transp~rtation for Orange County: and
WHEREAS, s~ch air transportation is vital to the economic
well being of the C4unty: and
WHEREAS, t~, present airport facilities are totally
inadequate to serve!~wo mi1l~on Orange County residents now and in
the future: and i
WHEREAS, Jqbn Wayne Airport has an outstanding Noise
~tement Program arid it should continue: and
WHEREAS, tqe City Council of the City of Anaheim
recommends. improvem~'n. .'. ts in te.'.rmina1 space, additional flights,
parking, g~OW1d tra . ic considerations, runway upgrade and other
facilities ag deeme . ;necessary: and
WHBREAS, cqsts for the improvements will not be bOrn~:by
the genera~ taxpaye~s but by monies accrued from airport users and
20% from revenue bo~s: and
wHEREAS, t~ Board of Supervisors has decreed no new site
is available in the County for an airport. .
~OW, THEREFPRE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim
is in full suppOrt elf ilUProvePlents for John Wayne Airport and
respectfully urges t~e Orange. County Board of Supervisors to
promptly move ahead with the steps necessary to implement said
Master Plan.
THE FOREGOI~ RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 18th day of September, 1984.
