A RESOLUT~ON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC
CONVENIENdE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUC-
TION AND dOMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT,
TO WIT:
ASHINGTON!LANE, CHALET AVENUE, EMPIRE STREET AND
PALAIS RO~ CONDUIT INSTALLATION, IN THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM, ~CCOUNT NO. 55-489-6340-08620-59300.
WHEREAS, p'ublic convenience and necessity require the
construction and co~pletion of a public improvement in the City of
Anaheim, to wit:
Conduit instal~ation in Ashington Lane, Chalet Avenue,
Empire Street ~nd Palais Road, in the City of Anaheim,
consisting of ~he installation of 3" Sch 80 PVC conduit
in the above-n~med streets in accordance with the
project plans ~nd specifications which are on file in
the Office of ~he City Engineer, Account No.
55-489-6340-08d20-59300r and
WHEREAS, ~he City Council instructed the Public Works
Department to prepa~e detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings
and speci fications, iand estimates of quanti ties and costs and make
necessary surveys fQr the construction of said public improvementr
and
WHEREAS, $aid Public Works Department has prepared said
detailed designs, p~ans, profiles, drawings and specifications for
the construction of said public improvement and has submitted the
same to the City Codncilr and
WHEREAS, ~he City Council finds that said detailed
designs, plans, pro~iles, drawings and specifications for said
public improvement ~bove mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practic~ and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and residents
in said area for th~ purposes for which they are intended, and that
they are adequate for the construction of said public improvement
and should be appro~ed.

NOW, THERaFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim tha~ the detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings and specif~cations for said public improvement hereinabove
mentioned and descr~bed be, and the same are hereby, approved and
adopted as prepared by said Public Works Department.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement
shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as prepared by said
Public Works Departm~nt and hereby approved, and such addenda or
modifications theretb as may be approved prior to the awarding of
bids therefor.
BE IT FURT~ER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to
publish a notice accprding to law, inviting sealed proposals for
the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power,
fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and
complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance
with said detailed d~signs, plans, profiles, drawings and
specifications as prepared by said Public Works Department, the
public improvements ~ereinabove mentioned and described, and
fixing the 9th day of August, 1984, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock
P.M. as the date andihour for the opening of said bids at the City
Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that
said notice shall be published twice, the first of which
publications shall be at least ten (lO) days prior to the date
fixed for the openin$ of bids, and that said publications shall be
at least five (5) days apart.
BE IT FURT~ER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or
bidders shall be req~ired to enter into a contract with the City
of Anaheim in the ma~ner and form approved by the City Attorney of
the City of Anaheim ~or the construction, installation and
completion of said Pt'bliC improvement hereinabove mentioned and
described, in accord nce with the plans and specifications
prepared by said Pub ic Works Department, the notice inviting
sealed proposals, this resolution and all applicable City
Ordinances or Code Sections and the laws of the State of
California, and shall be required to post bonds and insurance in
the amounts and with~h the time required by law, as specified in
the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in a form approved by
the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOJNG RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 24th day of July, 1984.
