A RESOLUTIOf OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM rUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE AND~. FILE A BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN FACILI-
TIES CLAIM PPLICATION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR.
1984-85 WIT THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION
COMMISSION URSUANT ~O SENATE BILL NO. 821.

WHEREAS, in 1973, the Californ~a State Legislature
amended the Transportation Development Act by the adoption of
Senate Bill No. 821 ~hich provides that two percent (2%) of each
County's total LocaliTransportation Fund be set aside annually and
be made available tolthe cities and counties for .facilities pro-
vided for the exclustVe use of pedestrians and bicycles~ and
WHEREAS, th~ City of Anaheim has planned a bikeway system
in conformance with ~pecifications of the California Highway
Design Manual and th~ Regional Tra'nsportation Plan, as identified
in the City of Anaheim Master Plan of Bikeways; and
WHEREAS, tht. City of Anaheim desires to construct the
master bikeway syste . within the City of Anaheim utilizing the
funds available unde Senate Bill No. 82l~ and
WHEREAS, th~ Carbon Creek Channel Bikeway facility is
identified as a spec~fic project within the City of Anaheim Master
Plan of Bikeways.

NOW, THEREF~RE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Anaheim ~oes hereby express its desrie and willingness
to participate in th~ proposed project for the construction of
bicycle facility imp~ovements pursuant to Senate Bill No. 821 and
in accordance with PFocedures adopted by the Orange County
Transportation Commi~sion.
BE IT FURTH~R RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City
of Anaheim be, and h~ is hereby, authorized to execute and file on
behalf of the City o~ Anaheim a Bicycle/Pedestrian Facilities
Claim Application fo~ the Fiscal Year 1984-85 with the Orange
County Transportation Commission pursuant to Senate Bill No. 821
to apply for all allocated funds available to the City of Anaheim
for bikeways and ped~strian facilities.
