A RESOLPTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF: ANAHEIM APPROVING THE APPLICATION
FOR LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION CONTINGENCY
RESERVE~RBAN RECREATION DEMONSTRATION PRO-
GRAM F : S FOR THE PEARSON PARK POOL IMPROVE-
MENT PR JECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE SAID APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY OFt ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS~ the Congress of the United States under Public
Law 88-578 has au~horized the establishment of a Federal Land
and Water Conserv~tion Fund Grant-In-Aid Program, providing for
matching funds to! the State of California and its political
subdivisions for ,cquiring lands and developing facilities for
public outdoor re~reation purposes; and
WHEREAS. the Secretary of the Interior has announced
the availability ~f Land and Water Conservation Funds from the
Contingency Reserte for an Urban Recreation Demonstration
program; and
WHEREAS~ the State Department of Parks and Recreation
is responsible fo* the administration of the program within the
application by lodal agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS~ said adopted procedures established by the
State Department ~f Parks and Recreation require the applicant
to certify by resQlution the approval of applications and the
availability of l~cal matching funds prior to submission of
said applications to the State; and
WHEREAS'i Part V of said applications contains assurances
that the applicanQ must comply with; and
1.JHEREAS" said procedures further require the applicant
to possess an ado~ted plan showing parks and recreation lands
and facilities, e~isting and proposed; and
WHEREAS,! the City's Pearson Park Pool Improvement
Project plan was approved by the City Council on August 22,
1978; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Pearson Park Pool Improvement
Project appears onl the City's plan and is consistent with the
California Outdoor' Recreation Resources Plan; and

WHEREAS,! the project must be compatible with the land
use of those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the project.
NOW, THE~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Anapeim does hereby approve the filing of an
application for La~d and Water Conservation Fund assistance.

BE IT FWRTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Anaheim c,rtifiesthat the City understands the
assurances in Part V of the application and certifies that it
will comply with Ihe r, egulations, policies, guidelines, and
requirements, inc uding Office of Management and Budget
circulars Nos. A- 7, A-95, and A-102 as they relate to the
application.
BE IT FWRTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Anaheim Ci' rtifiesthat the City has matching funds ,
from thefollowin sources: in-lieu fees, Orange County
Revenue Sharing F nds, and City Sewer-Construction Fund (loan),
and can finance I 0 percent of the project, half of which
will be reimbursed.
BE IT F~RTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Anahe~m certifies that the City meets the planning
requirements and that the project is compatible with the land
use plans of thos~ jurisdictions immediately surrounding the
proj ect.

BE IT F~RTHER RESOLVED that the City M~nager of the
City of Anaheim b~, and he is hereby, authorized as agent of
the City to condu~t all negotiations, execute and submit all
documents includi~g but not limited to applications, agreements,
amendments, billi~g statements, and so on which may be necessary
for the completion of the aforementioned project.
THE FOR$SOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council ~f the City'of Anaheim this 29th day of
August , 1978.
