A RESO UTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANA 1M AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS MEMBERS
TO FI A WRITTEN ARGUMENT FOR AND AGAINST A
PROPOS D AMENDMtNT TO SECTION 504 OF THE
CHART OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.

IPROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT
It is ~roposed that Section 504 of the Charter of
the City oflAnaheim b>eamended to read as follows:
Section 504t MAYOR

At the first regular City Council meetblg
after the Scond Tuesday in April of each 'year cOl'lD1encing
in April. 180. and at any time when there isa vacancy
in theoffi ~ of Mayor. the City Council shall mee,t and
elect byop n vote one of its members as its presiding
officer, wh shall have the title of Mayor. The Mayor
may make an second .otions and shall have a voice and
vote in all proceedimgs; shall be the official head of
the City fo all cer$monial purposes; shall have the
primary but not the exclusive responsibility for communi-
cating the olicies, programs and needs of the C1ty
government 0 the people; and may inform the people of
any major c ange in policy or program. The Mayor shall
perform sue other duties consistent withsa1d office as
may be pres r:1bed by th:1s Charter or as may bej.mposed by
the City Co cil. The Mayor shall serve in such capacity
at the plea ure of theClty Council.

of its membtrs as Mayor Pro Tempore, who shall serve in
suchcapaci " at the pleasure of the City Council. The
Mayor Pro 'I' mpore shall perform the duties of the Mayor
during the ayor's absence or disability.

ANAHEIM DOES HE~BY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
