RESOLUTION NO. 78R-~
A RESOLijTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ADOPTtNG THE ANAHEIM MASTER PLAN
OF BIKEWAYS, TRAILS ELEMENT, DATED AUGUST 1,
1978.
WHEREAS, in 1973, the California State Legislature
amended the Transpqrtation Development Act (Senate Bill No. 325)
by passage of Sena~e Bill No. 82'1 which provides that two
percent of eachCOl.tl'll.ty' s total local transportation fund be
set aside annually!and be made available to the cities and
counties for facilities provided for the exclusive use by
pedestrians and bi~ycles; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to have a
planned bikeway sy~tem in conformance with specifications of
the California HigHway Design Manual and the Regional Trans-
portation Plan; and
WHEREAS~ the City of Anaheim desires to construct
the master bikeway system with the City of Anaheim utilizing
the funds available under Senate Bill No. 821; and
WHEREAS, a Master Plan of Bikeways for the City of
Anaheim has heretofore been prepared and submitted to the
City Council concutlrently herewith in exhibit form.
NOW, TH~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of AnaHeim does hereby express its desire and
willingness to participate in the construction of bicycle
facility improveme~ts pursuant to Senate Bill No. 821.
BE IT F~RTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Anaheim do ,8 hereby adopt the City of Anahe;Lm Master
Plan of Bikeways i accordance with the exhibit therefor
as submitted to the City Council this date and in conformance
with the specifications of the California Highway Design
Manual and the Regional Transportation Plan.
