RESOLUTION NO. 78R-~
A RESOLUTIOJ'J OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AU~ORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
AND SUBMIT ~ GRANT PROPOSAL UNDER THE AUTHORITY
OF S.B. 18719 TO CONSTRUCT AN EXPANDED TRAIN
STATION/TRAiNSPORTATION CENTER AT ANAHEIM STADIUM;
REALLOCATE iA PORTION OF PREVIOUSLY AWARDED S.B. 283
FUNDS TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING AND PLAN PREPARATION
FOR THE SAME.
WHEREAS, t~'e State Legislature recently passed Senate
Bill 1879, which povides funds for pr6jects ~a improve~h~
transfer of passen.ers between various transportation modes; and
WHEREAS, t11-e Orange County Transportation Commission will
coordinate fundingiunder the provisions of Sections 99315 and
99316 of the Publid Utilities Code as established by Senate
Bill 1879 (Mills); and
WHEREAS, t~e City of Anaheim desires to provide a train
station/transportation center to meet increased local and
regional public tr~nsportation needs; and
WHEREAS, tpe City of Anaheim was pr~viously awarded
$79,228 by Caltran~ to construct a minimal train platform at
Anaheim Stadium; apd
WHEREAS, t~e City of Anaheim wishes to expand the para-
meters of said tra.n platform in order ta meet the increased
need for the inter ace of various transportation modes within
the City.
NOW, THER~ORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Anaheijrn does hereby express its desire and willing-
ness to participatje in the construction of an expanded train
station/transport~tion center pursuant to S.B. 1879 criteria.
BE IT FUR'11HER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Anaheim does h~rebY request the reallocation of a maximum of
$39,300 of previously awarded S.B. 283 funds to defray the
expanded cost incurred by necessary project revisions.
