A RESOLUfION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHE~M AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE fi D FILE A BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN FACILITIES
CLAIM AP LICATION WITH THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANS-
PORTATIO COMMISSION PURSUANT TO.SENATE BILL
NO. 821.
WHEREAS,: ~n 1973, the California State Legislature
amended theTransp~tation Development Act by the adoption
of Senate Bill NO.1 821 which provides that two percent ot
each County's totaP. Local Transportation Fund be set aside
annually and be m~e available to the cities and counties for
facilities providetf for the exclusive use of pedestrians and
bicycles; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has planned a bikeway
system in conformapce with specifications of the California
Highway Design Manpal and the Regional Transportation Plan,
as identified in ttleCity of Anaheim Master Plan of Bikeways;
and
WHEREAS ,ithe City of Anaheim desires to construct
the master bikeway! system within the City of Anaheim utilizing
the funds availab]e under Senate Bill No. 821; and
WHEREAS., the Carbon Creek Channel Bike-way facility
isident1f1ed as ~.spec:if1c' project within the City of Anahe1m
Master Plan of Bi~ways.
NOW, T~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City. Council
of the City of Analheim does hereby express its desj.re and
willingness to paI1ticipate j.n the proposed project for the
construction of ~'YCle facility improvements pursuant to
Senate Bill No. 8 1 and in accordance with procedures adopted
by the Orange Co .y Transportation Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of
the City of Anahe~ be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute
and file on behalf of the City of Anaheim a Bicycle/Pedestrian
Facilities Claim ~th taeOrange County Transportation Commission
pursuant to SenatdBill No. 821 to apply for all allocated funds
available to the dity of Anaheim for bikeways and pedestrian
facilities.
