OF ANAHEIM
OPPOSITION
STRUCTURES
ON THE NAT
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
XPRESSING THE CITY'S CONCERN AND
GARDING INCLUSION OF CERTAIN
ITHIN REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT ALPHA

WHEREAS, t~e. e Redevelopment Plan for Redevelopment
Project Alpha wasor1tSinally adopted in 1973 and amended in 1976;
and
WHEREAS, a~.ter numerous and exhaustive public hearings,
said Plan was amende~ a second time in November of 1976; and
.
WHEREAS, p l"suant to said amended Plan, the Anaheim
Redevelopment Agency the Community Redevelopment Commission, and
many groups, busineses and individuals have taken actions to ini-
tiate the redevelopm nt of the downtown portion of Proj ect Alp'ha
in accordance with sid Plan, as amended; and
WHEREAS, t~e Anaheim Redevelopment Agency has been ad-
vised of the recent 'omination of many structures to be placed on
the National Registe of Historic Places; and
. .
WHEREAS, tie preservation of historic places and struc-
tures is a recognize' goal in the Red.evelopmentPlan when such
preservation is consstent with the revitalization of the Project
Area and elimination 101' blight; and
!
WHEREAS, tije designation of certain structures as his-
toric structures wou~Ci adversely affect the revitalization of
Project Alpha; and
WHEREAS, tlke Agency has entered into contracts for de-
velopment of certainlproperties, which properties include some
structures nominatedifor designation on the National Register;
and .
WHEREAS, elf,ch of said contracts was subjected to review
under the terms of t.e Californ1a Env1ronmentalQuallty Act.
NOW, THEREtRE' BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim hat the following specified structures are
not recommended for nclusion on the National Register of Historic
Places because
