A RESOLUT ON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEI APPROVING A GROUND LEASE BETWEEN
THE CITY F ANAHEIM AND THE ANAHEIM STADIUM
ASSOCIATE, A CALIFORNIA GENERAL PARTNERSHIP,
FOR THE LASE OF APPROXIMATELY NINETY ACRES
OF CITY-O ED PROPERTY GENERALLY BOUNDED BY
KATELLA A NUE, ORANGEWOOD AVENUE, STATE
COLLEGE B ULEVARD AND DOUGLASS STREET, AND
AUTHORIZI G THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXE-
CUTE SAID GROUND LEASE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEI .
WHEREAS, ~he City of Anaheim is the owner of certain
real property situa~ed in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange,
State of California~ consisting of approximately ninety (90) acres
of land generally Ideated southerly of Katella Avenue, easterly of
State College Boulei'ard, westerly of Douglass Street and northerly
of Orangewood Avenu~ and more particularly described in the Ground
Lease; and
WHEREAS, ior many years the City has attempted to maintain
a parking facility Qr the Anaheim Stadium on the above described
property and has fond a dual US~ to return the property to the tax
roll thereby assist ng to relieve the tax burden of the citizens of
the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, inaheim Stadium Associates has submitted a pro-
posal to construct ecording to a master plan a multiplicity of
commercial offices nd commercial limited uses while maintaining
the existing parking for the Stadium structures; and
WHEREAS, ~aid dual use will result in increased employment
and building develo~ment in the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of
Anaheim to enter in~o said Ground Lease.
NOW, THER$FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of AnaheimJthat the covenants and conditions of a Ground
Lease with the Anah+~m Stadium Associates are hereby approved.
BE IT FURtHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk be,
and they are hereby. authorized to execute said Ground Lease on
behalf of the City ~f Anaheim.
