A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHE]M AUTHORIZING THE ANAHEIM PUBLIC
LIBRARY Tb PARTICIPATE IN CALIFORNIA LIBRARY
SERVICES ACT.

WHEREAS, (the City Council of the City of Anaheim main-
tains the Anaheim ~blic Library for the purpose of meeting in-
formational, educat~onal and recreational needs of its residents;
and
WHEREAS, jthe Ci tyCouncil of the City of Anaheim is
desirous of improvipg those services while deriving "the greatest
possible benefits or the use of public funds by:
A. Providing/to its residents access to the materials
and servipes of other libraries in the state through
resource sharing;
B. Obtaining! the maximum state and federal funding in
support or such sharing; and
C. Augmenting services to those segments of the com-
munity not presently served; and
WHEREAS, the California Library Services Board has funds
available under the! California Library Services Act (Education
Code Title 1, Divislton 1, Part 11, Chapter 4) to assist a.nd sup-
port the sharing or' library materials and services by California's
libraries; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim Public Library may wish to
participate in the ~alifornia Library Services Act programs; and
WHEREAS, .ttn deciding whether or not the Anaheim Public
Library wishes to p~rticipate in the programs, each specific pro-
gram shall be consinered separately.
NOW, THER~ORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Anaheim Public
Library is authoriz d to participate in the programs of the Cali-
fornia Library Serv .ces Act.
BE IT FURtrHER RESOLVED that if the City of Anaheim
Public Library elects to participate in the programs of the Cali-
fornia Library Serv!ices Act, the Anaheim Library Director be, and
he is hereby, authot;-ized and-.airected to apply for and accept
funds under the Calltfornia Library Services Act.
