A RESOL~~ION OF ~E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAH ~M FINDI~G AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC
CONVENI ~CE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUC-
TION AND COMPLETIoN OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO
WIT:
COMMUNI~ BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM AREA 3 _
STREET 'D ALLEY IMPROVEMENTS , IN THE CITY
OF ANAHEM, ACCOUNT NOS. 25-793-6325-3070;
-3140; - 150 and -3160.
APPROVI~ THE DESIGNS, PLANS, PROFILES, DRAWINGS
AND SPE~FICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORI~NG THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC
IMPROVE~.NT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECI-
FICATIO~, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITyl CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience cmd necessity require the
construction and c~letion of a pUblic improvement in the City
of Anaheim, to wit':
Community Block fi.rant Pro$ram Area 3 - Street and Alley
Improvements - A .a boundtd by Anaheim Boulevard, Wilhelmina
Street, Union Pa tfic Railroad and North Street, in the City
of Anaheim, cons sting of clearing and grubbing; excavation;
local borrow; P.~.C. curb, gutter, sidewalk, access ramps,
drive approach, 4nd alley approach; construction of redwood
header; placemen' of payment reinforcement fabric over
asphalt binder; q~nstruct1on of asphalt concrete; slurry
seal; adjustment Qf water valves and manholes to grade; con-
struction of galvanized pipe guards; relocation of fences;
and all appurtena~t work as shown on the plans and delineated
in the specifica~ions on file in the Office of the City
Engineer, AccounU Nos. 25-793-6325-3070; 25-793-6325-3140;
25-793-6325-3150 and 25-793-6325-3160.

WHEREAS, said 1UbliC ~kS DeD~tmen~ has prepared
said ~etai1ed desi~ms, plan, prof1 es, draw ngs and specifica-
tions for the cons~tuction qf said public improvement and has
submitted the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, .the City Council finds that said detailed
designs, plans, prQti1es, d~awings and specifications for said
pUblic improvement '.bove me~tioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practiq. and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of thdCity of Anaheim and the citizens and
residents in said ~rea for the purposes for which they are
intended, and that~hey are adequate for the construction of
said public improvd~nt and should be approved.
NOW, THE~FORE, B$ IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anahei~lthat the detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings and specirl!cations for said public improvement herein-
above mentioned and described be, and the same are hereby
approved and adopted as prepared by said Public Works
n~pa.1"tm.nt .

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said pUblic i~~rovement
shall be construct~ in accdrdance with said detailed designs,
plans, profiles, d~wings and specifications as prepared by said

BE IT FUR~ER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim be, and ~he is he~eby authorized and directed to
publish a notice ac~lording to law, inviting sealed proposals for
the furnishing of aP-ll plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, and all ~i1ities and transportation, including power,
fuel and water, and: ~erform1ng all work necessary to construct
and con;>lete, in a Biood and workmanlike manner, in strict
accordance with saibi detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings
and specifications kG prepar~d by said Public Works
J)~nt: ., the pUblic in;>rovements hereinabove
mentTOnea. and described, and fixing the ~...tlL day of. November ,
1~, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for
the opening of said bids at the C1ty Council Chamber in the City
Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be
published twice, th~ first of which publications shall be at
least ten (10) days prior-to the date fixed for the opening of
bids, and that said publications shall be at least five (5) days
apart.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder
or bidders shall be; required to enter into a contract with the
City ot Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City
Attorney of the City. of Anaheim for the construction, installa-
tion and completion~f said ,ub1ic improvement hereinabove
mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans and

specifications pr~pared by said PUb~C Works De~art~ut ,
the notice inviting sealed proposals, t is resolution and all
applicable City O*~lnances or Code Sections and the laws of
the State of CalitQrnia, and shall be required to post bonds
and insurance in 'fue amounts and within the time required by
law, as specified !n the n~tice inviting sealed proposals,
and in a form app~oved by the City Attorney.
THE FOR$~OING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
