RESOLUTION NO. 78R- 681
A RESOLUTIQN OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE EMPLOYMENT OF
ELECTRICAL tqONTRACTqRS TO RESTORE ELECTRICAL
SERVICES D~ING AN ~RGENCY SITUATION; AlID
AUTHORIZING THE UTILITIES DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE
AGREEMENTS ~ERTAINING TO SAID SERVICES.
WHEREAS, from Saturday, September 23, 1978 to Tuesday,
September 26, 1978, a heat wave occurred in the City of Anaheim,
the severity of whic~:caused ~xtensive damage to the City's
electric utility fac~1ities, resulting in widespread electric
power outages; and
WHEREAS, because of the four-day duration of the heat
wave, City of Anaheim ,employees were working around the clock
and required time to rest; and
WHEREAS, City's Utilities Director, because of the
emergency nature of the situation, in order to restore electrical
power in a timely manner, was Tequired to employ electric line
construction contractors to help available City crews to restore
electric services; and
WHEREAS, one electrical contractor, L. J. Ogg, Inc.
was able to respond to the emergency situation with linemen
to help restore service; and
WHEREAS, L., J. Ogg, Inc. submitted to the City of
Anaheim their rafes f~r labor and equipment in connection with
services required to ~estore electrical power; and
WHEREAS, a letter agreement with L. J. Ogg, Inc.
has been prepared det~i1ing said rates for labor and equipment,
the terms of which are acceptable to the City of A~aheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the terms and
conditions of said 1e~ter agreement are hereby approved and
accepted.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Utilities Director
of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to execute s~id agree~ent on behalf of the City Council
of the City of Anaheim.
