80R-440 RESOLUTION NO. 80R --440
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM SUPPORTING SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
EDISON COMPANY'S PROPOSED MIRA LOMA-SERRANO-
VILLA PARK TRANSMISSION LINE PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim recognizes the need for
electrical power in the Southern California area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is vitally interested
in the availability of electrical power to meet the increasing
electrical requirements of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Utilities Department staff has
reviewed the Edison Company's proposal to (1) construct two
500 kV transmission circuits between Mira Loma Substation,
east of Chino, and Serrano Substation in the City of Orange,
(2) construct two new 220 kV transmission lines from Serrano
Substation to Villa Park Substation in the City of Orange, and
(3) add switchyard facilities to the Serrano Substation
(hereinafter referred to as "Mira Loma - Serrano -Villa Park
Transmission Line Project "); and
WHEREAS, the proposed Mira Loma - Serrano -Villa Park
Transmission Line Project will provide additional capacity
and reliability to the City of Anaheim and will provide
additional 500 kV circuit connections closer to Anaheim's Lewis
Substation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
that the City of Anaheim supports Southern California Edison's
proposed Mira Loma - Serrano -Villa Park Transmission Line Project
as submitted to the Public Utilities Commission.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 30th day of
September, 1980.
