A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM OPPOSING THE REQUEST OF
YELLOW CAB COMPANY OF NORTHERN ORANGE
COUNTY FOR JITNEY SERVICES IN THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM
WHEREAS, Yellow Cab Company of Northern Orange
County has filed an application with the Public Utilities
Commission of the State of California for a certificate of
public convenience and necessity for a jitney transportation
service in the Disneyland area of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has previously approved
several taxicab and jitney services in this area; and
WHEREAS, the previous approvals by the City of
Anaheim have resulted in a satisfactory level of service for
the public in taxicabs and jitneys in this area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has determined the
prior approved taxicab and jitney services as adequate to
serve the public and additional service is not required; and
WHEREAS, the additional request of Yellow Cab Company
of Northern Orange County would result in the creation of
more taxis and jitney vehicles than necessary to serve the
public need and good.•
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that it does oppose the application of
the Yellow Cab Company of Northern Orange County to the Public
Utilities Commission of the State of California for a
certificate of public convenience and necessity for a taxi and
jitney service in the Disneyland area in the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 12th day of November,
1980.
