80R-142 RESOLUTION NO. 80R-142 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CITY RECORDS, DOCUMENTS, INSTRUMENTS, AND PAPERS MORE THAN TWO YEARS OLD. WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of California authorizes the destruction of records, docu- ments, instruments, books and papers (hereinafter "records") which are no longer required or needed by the City, upon approval of the City Council and with the written consent of the City Attorney, provided that said records do not fall within certain specified categories; and WHEREAS, the fOllowing described records in the posses- sion of the Police Department of the City of Anaheim are records more than two years old and are documents which are authorized for destruction under the provisions of said Section 34090 of the Government Code without making a copy thereof; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police of the City of Anaheim has determined that said records are no longer needed or required by the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the determination of the Chief of Police and finds the destruction of the records in the best interests of the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim does by the approval of this Resolution hereby give his written con- sent for the destruction of the records herein specified. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the Chief of Police of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized to immediately destroy, in a law- ful manner, the fOllowing described documents under liis charge without making any copies thereof, to wit: 1. Police OL'icer' s 1'i1e copies of parking citations con- secutively from nUL:uer AN 07500lP dated June 30, 1976, to number AN 102999P dated November 27, 1977. 2. Police Officer's file copies of moving violation cita- tions consecutively from number A 1000 dated July 1, 1976, to number A 42999 dated December 13, 1977. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon destruction of the fore- going records, a certificate of destruction shall be executed and the original thereof filed in the office of the City Clerk together with a copy of this resolution. -1- .".",-..~~__"c....._ THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 1st day of April, 1980.
