RESOLUTION NO. 80R- 151
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM URGING THE BUREAU OF CENSUS TO
ALLOCATE AN ADDITIONAL SIXTY (60) DAYS FOR
THE POST-CENSUS REVIEW.
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Census of the U.S. Department
of Commerce had promised a two-part local review program: a four
to eight week pre-census review and a ten-day post-census review;
and
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Census has recently eliminated
the pre-census review; and
and
WHEREAS, the post-census review is only a ten-day period;
WHEREAS, without a pre-census review, a ten-day post-
census review is inadequate to ensure a full and accurate count
of population of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the result of a less accurate count will create
future problems for the City of Anaheim in program planning and
funding; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim needs an additional sixty
(60) days to satisfactorily complete the post-census review.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Anaheim
urges the Census Bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce to grant
the City of Anaheim sixty (60) days additional time for the post-
census review.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim is hereby directed to forward copies of this Resolution
to all Orange County members of Congress, the Bureau of Census,
and League of California Cities.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 8th day of April, 1980.
