86R-371 RESOLUTION NO. 86R-37l A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE ANAHEIM GENERAL PLAN DESIG- NATED AS AMENDMENT NO. 217. WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, pursuant to the recommendations of the Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim, adopted a General Plan for the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, on the 21st day of July, 1986, the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim did hold a public hearing to consider a General Plan Amendment. The General Plan Amendment does consider modifications of the boundaries of the Commercial Recreation (CR) area in the Disneyland/Convention Center area; and WHEREAS, the following five study areas totaling approximately 55.2 acres, are being considered for readjustment to the boundaries of the CR area. Study Area I: Approximately 3.1 acres bounded on the north by Vermont Avenue, east by a public alley, and southwest by the Santa Ana (5) Freeway. Currently designated for Commercial Recreation land uses. Stud~ Area II: Approximately 4.1 acres located on the south side of ermont Avenue, approximately 190 feet east of the centerline of Citron Street and 285 feet west of the centerline of Harbor Boulevard. Currently designated for Commercial Recreation land uses. Study Area III: Approximately 22.7 acres located on the northeast corner of Ball road and Harbor Boulevard. Currently designated for General Commercial and Commercial Professional land uses. Study Area IV: Approximately 8.5 acres located on the northwest corner of Orangewood Avenue and Harbor Boulevard and 4.2 acres located on the northeast corner of Orangewood Avenue and Harbor Boulevard. Currently designated for General Commercial land use. Study Area V: Approximately 12.6 acres located on the northwest corner of Orangewood Avenue and Manchester Avenue, extending approximately 1550 feet north along Manchester Avenue. Currently designated for Commercial Recreation land uses; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing, the City Planning Commission did duly adopt its Resolution No. PC86-202 containing a report of its findings, a summary of the evidence presented at said hearing, and recommending that said Amendment to the General Plan designated as Amendment No. 217 be adopted by the City Council changing the land use designations for the aforedescribed areas as follows: Study Area I Study Area II Study Area III - Study Area IV Study Area V Exhibit A Exhibit A Exhibit A Exhibit A Exhibit E General Commercial Medium Density Residential Commercial Recreation Commercial Recreation Commercial on the northerly 5.1 acres and Medium Density Residential on the southerly 7.5 acres; and WHEREAS, upon receipt of said Resolution, summary of evidence, report of findings and recommendations of the City Planning Commission, the City Council did fix the 12th day of August, 1986, as the time, and the City Council Chamber in the Civic Center as the place for a public hearing on said proposed Amendment No. 217 and did give notice thereof in the manner and as provided by law; and WHEREAS, the City Council did duly hold and conduct such public hearing and did give all persons interested therein an opportunity to be heard, and did receive evidence and reports and did consider the recommendations of the City Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that Amendment No. 217 changing the land use designations in the aforedescribed areas should be approved as follows: Study Area I Study Area II Study Area II I - Study Area IV Study Area V Exhibit A Exhibit A Exhibit A Exhibit A Exhibit E General Commercial Medium Density Residential Commercial Recreation Commercial Recreation Commercial on the northerly 5.1 acres and Medium Density Residential on the southerly 7.5 acres NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that Amendment No. 217 to the General Plan changing the land use designations for the aforedescribed areas be, and the same is hereby, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Planning Department be, and it is hereby, instructed to amend the General Plan Map to conform to General Plan Amendment No. 217 as herein adopted and approved. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 12th day of August, 1986.
