86R-456 RESOLUTION NO. 86R-456 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR THE SHARP SUBSTATION EXPANSION IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did cause to be published in a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to wit: The Anaheim Bulletin, on the 4th and 11th days of September, 1986, a notice inviting sealed proposals for furnishing the following: All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings therefor on file in the Office of the City Engineer or City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the following public improvement, to wit: Sharp Substation expansion in the City of Anaheim consisting of the construction of foundations and erection of electrical equipment to increase the capacity of Sharp Substation 100%. The equipment to be installed includes a power transformer, metal clad switchgear, capacitor bank, disconnect switches, power and control cable, bus and associated foundations and all appurtenant work as shown on the plans and delineated in the specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer, Account No. 55-655-6329-05952, in accordance with the design, plans, profiles and specification of said public improvement on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, one and only one bid was received from Newbery Electric, Inc. in the amount of $351,119.00; and WHEREAS, after staff review, it is hereby determined that the bid was substantially higher than the estimate and funds available for the project; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended that the City Council reject the above-mentioned bid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the bid from Newbery Electric, Inc. in the amount of $351,119.00 be, and it is hereby, rejected. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 14th day of October, 1986.
