RESOLUTION NO. 69R- 449
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE CALIFORNIA
HIGHWAY Cm-1l'1ISSION TO PERMIT THE SANTA ANA
FREEWAY TO BE CROSSED BY AND CONNECTED BY
INTERCHANGE RAMPS TO STATE COLLEGE BOULEVARD-
HANCHESTER AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the State of Cali-
fornia have heretofore entered into a Freeway Agreement dated
February 4, 1964, relating to the portion of Santa Ana Free-
way, State Highway Road 07-0RA-5 (former 07-0RA-174-Ana), be-
tween the Fullerton-Anaheim City Limit at Houston Street and
the Anaheim-Orange City Limit near State College Boulevard;
and
WHEREAS, it is the desire and request of the City
of Anaheim that a crossing and interchange between said Santa
Ana Freeway and certain highways, known as State College Boule-
vard and r1anchester Avenue and shown on the Master Plan of Arterial
Highways of said City (and also of Orange County), be permitted
and constructed; and
WHEREAS, said request will require the closure of
the southbound on-ramp at Orangewood Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Sections 100.2 and 100.3 of the Streets and
Highways Code require the approval of the California Highway
Commission, by Resolution, in order to permit connection to
any Freeway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the California Highway Commission,
pursuant to authority vested in it by law, be and it is hereby
requested to permit the Santa Ana Freeway (Interstate 5) to
be crossed by and connected by interchange ramps to said State
College Boulevard-Manchester Avenue as shown on attached print
labeled "Exhibit A", dated Harch 14, 1969, and made a part hereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, and it is hereby requested
that the construction of the Orangewood Avenue overcrossing
which has been approved by the California Highway Commission
and as set forth on the Master Plan of Arterial Highways of
said City (and also of Orange County) be considered as soon
as feasible, at whioh time the remaining off-ramp is to be closed.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 29th day of July , 1969.
