RESOLUTION NO. 68R- 472
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT TO BE MADE
AND ENTERED INTO BETWEEN R. EARL SHEEHAN,
DOING BUSINESS AS ANAHEIM SECURITY PATROL
AND PACIFIC DETECTIVE BUREAU AND PATROL,
AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, RELATING TO THE
DEPUTIZING OF GUARDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF
DIRECTING TRAFFIC ENTERING, LEAVING, AND
TRAVERSING THAT PORTION OF BALL ROAD WHICH
BORDERS THE MENASHA CORPORATION PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, many employees and visitors of the Menasha
Corporation enter and leave the Menasha Corporation property
by way of Ball Road; and
WHEREAS, Anaheim Security Patrol and Pacific Detective
Bureau and Patrol, owned and operated by E. Earl Sheehan, doing
business as Anaheim Security Patrol and Pacific Detective Bureau
and Patrol, are security patrols duly licensed by the State of
California; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to use Anaheim Security
Patrol and Pacific Detective Bureau and Patrol guards to direct
traffic entering, leaving and traversing that portion of Ball
Road which borders said Menasha Corporation property; and to
have such guards deputized by the City of l~aheim as officers
of the Anaheim Police Department for the purpose of investing
them with adequate and legal authority to direct traffic at
that location; and
WHEREAS, a form of agreement dated July 30, 1968,has
this day been submitted to the City Council to be made and
entered into between R. Earl Sheehan, doing business as Anaheim
Security Patrol and Pacific Detective Bureau and Patrol, and the
City of ~aheim providing for the deputizing of such guards and
providing for adequate insurance coverage to protect the City
against all claims for damage or injury arising by reason of
any act, omission or neglect on the part of said guards; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that said agreement
would be for the benefit and best interest of the City and should
be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the city of Anaheim that the agreement this day submitted to the
City Council, dated July 30, 1968, to be made and entered into
between the City and R. Earl Sheehan, doing business as Anaheim
Security Patrol and Pacific Detective Bureau and Patrol, pro-
viding for the deputizing of guards to direct traffic entering,
leaving and traversing that portion of Ball Road which borders
the Menasha Corporation property located at 601 East Ball Road,
in the City of Anaheim, upon the terms and conditions therein
set forth, be and the sarne is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement for
and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
