RESOLUTION NO. 68R-434
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF M~AHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS,
DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS, WITH REFERENCE TO THE
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF A TRAFFIC
CONTROL SIGNAL SYSTEM AND HIGHWAY LIGHTING
AT THE INTERSECTION OF KATELLA AVENUE WITH
STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE 07-0RA-250 1.3 (STATE
COLLEGE BOULEVARD), AND CHANNELIZATION ON
KATELLA AVENUE.

WHEREAS, the State of California and the City of
Anaheim contemplate the joint installation of a traffic control
signal system and highway lighting at the intersection of
Katella Avenue with State Highway Route 07-0ra-250 1.3 (State
College Boulevard), and channelization on Katella Avenue, within
the City of Anaheim, and desire to enter into an agreement
specifying the proportionate share of the costs that are to be
borne by the City and the State and providing for the maintenance
thereof; and

WHEREAS, the State of California has submitted to the
City Agreement #2296 providing for the installation of said
traffic control signal system, highway lighting, and channelization,
specifying the proportionate share of the costs to be borne by
the City and the State and arranging for the maintenance thereof,
as more particularly set forth in said agreement: and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be for
the benefit and best interest of the City to enter into said
agreement with the State and that the same should be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that Agreement #2296 submitted to the City
by the State of California, Department of Public Works, Division
of Highways, providing for the installation of a traffic control
signal system and highway lighting at the intersection of Katella
Avenue with State Highway Route 07-0ra-250 1.3 (State College
Boulevard), and channelization on Katella Avenue, within the City
of Anaheim, upon the terms and conditions and for the proportionate
share of the costs set forth therein, be and the same is approved.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement
and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Director be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to:

(a) Reimburse State for the City's share of the expense of
the construction engineering costs and construction costs to
complete said traffic control signal system and highway lighting,
as provided in said agreement--estimated to be $13,600 (signals
$13,000; channelization $600), the actual amount of the City's
share to be determined after award and completion of the construc-
tion contract; and

(b) Reimburse State for City's proportionate share of the
cost of general maintenance and operation of said traffic control
signal system and highway lighting in the manner provided in that

1 Agreement for Maintenance of State highways in the City which
is in effect at the time said costs arise, as provided in said

3 THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
