'PBTITION submitted by CLARBNCB H. BAAGSTHN, 10162 ~p. 74g placentia Avenue, Anaheim, California, as Owner, requesting permis- sion to use the iots in Tract No. 3223 for Light Manufacturing uses. This tract is iocated at the Northeast corner of South Piacentia Ave- nue and Winston Road and is further described as the S+~ of the NW~ of the NW~ of Section 24, T4S, R10W, S.B.B. & M. The property is present- ly classified as R-A, RHSIDBNfIAL AGRICULTURAL. ~." This Variance was held over from the Meeting of May 6, 1957 because no specific use was requested for the property as required for a Vari- aace. No plot plan was presented and no eievation plan of the pro- posed building to be located on the property was fil~d. Mr. Bargsten, as Owner, and Mr. Ribal, as Hngineer, appeared before the Commission and presented plot plans of Lot 28 of Tract No. 3223 and after ques- tioaing stated that the Manufacturing Plant proposed for this lot was an electro-piating concern. They stated aiso that the piant had been okayed by the Mayor and the City Administrator. They also presented an artists rendering of the proposed plant, having a 10,000 square foot area located on the property line. 1. He stated that the proposed_setbacks specified as a con- dition on the Reclassification No. P-56-57-76 would be detrimental to the appearance of the ne3ghborhood. 2, It wouid be too much landscaping for small industries such as they proposed to establish in this tract. 3. It roaould cnt down available parking area. 4. A11 p~rtine would be at the rear according to their proposal. S. That this is being done in similar industrial tracts in the Citq of Santa Ana. 6. That the Sandscaping wouid not be kept up. 7. fihat Winston Road is not a major throughfare. Mr. Higgins, representing the Pacific Scientific Companq, appeared before the Commission and questioaed about the setback recommendation under Reciassificatian No, P-56-57-?6 and stated that he understood this wouid come before the City Council far consideration on ,June 18, 1957.. He also stated that their footings were 25 feet bac& of the pro- perty line aad although they pianned a planter that might extend to the 21 foot 13ne, this was not part of the building atrucxure but an architectural addition to impruve the appearance of the buiiding aad the street. It was pointed out by the Secretary that there are three different conditions on the subject propertq at preaent. 1.
